Mission Progress Report: Amplifying Business Success in Our Region

When the Entrepreneur Fund board of directors convened in2020 amidst the uncertainties of the pandemic to design a strategic plan for the next three years, they were driven by a singular vision: to empower entrepreneurs and fortify our regional economy.

In this three-year report, you will discover how our team is pioneering innovations on capital and dedicating time and resources to going deeper into key areas. Beyond a mere summary of our achievements, this report weaves a narrative that captures the vibrant entrepreneurial spirit emblematic of our region. It highlights the enterprises that are more than just businesses; they are the lifeblood of our communities, the drivers of opportunity, and the architects of a thriving future.

The unwavering support and belief in our mission from our partners have enabled EFund to have a significant impact on our region’s economic landscape, guiding our journey of meaningful change and empowerment.

Over the past three years, our team has had the privilege of supporting nearly 3,500 entrepreneurs and business owners across our region. Through these collaborations, we have extended $73.7 million in loans, providing critical relief, catalyzing growth, and fostering success across various stages of business development.

Our strategic expansion into northern Wisconsin marks a significant milestone in our mission to enrich and diversify the rural regional economy. In rural communities, where 63% of our clients are based, entrepreneurs are not just business owners; they are the heartbeat of their communities. By creating or sustaining 9,800 jobs, we have not only strengthened the economic foundation of these regions but have also fostered opportunities for growth.

Recognizing the role of innovation in economic advancement, we have channeled 35% of our lending to sectors brimming with high-growth potential, such as manufacturing, professional services, and technology. And we look to grow this in the future. Through our tailored programs, we aim to ignite innovation and drive prosperity in our region, assisting businesses in realizing their full potential.

Our dedication to fostering an inclusive economy shines through in the diversity of our client base. A testament to this commitment is that women make up 59% of our clients, while Black, Indigenous and People of Color represent 11%, figures that surpass their respective shares in the regional population. Through personalized support, we strive to foster economic justice and empower underrepresented groups, while creating an environment where equal opportunity thrives.
